Deus Ex: Human Revolution New E3 Trailer

Posted on 07 June 2010 by Tile

Eidos released a new video last week for it’s latest project, Dues Ex: Human Revolution (or Deus Ex 3 as it was called until recently).

Deus Ex is fondly remembered as one of the best first-person RPG’s ever to be made. Cool gadgets, skills and an awesome storyline makes it number one on many top 10 lists across the internet.

Deus Ex 2 (Deus Ex: Invisible War) was, in my opinion, a complete flop. It lacked the story and depth that made the first game so good.

So alas, I despaired, thinking that nothing could ever replace that original game. Continue Reading

Fallout New Vegas Collector’s Edition

Posted on 12 May 2010 by Tile

Bethesda appear to be ramping up the media releases on New Vegas as the release date draws closer and closer. Gamespot were recently let loose at Fallout New Vegas as well as other prominent online gamer magazines.

One of the more recent things they announced was what would be included in their Collector’s Edition.

Thankfully it’s not just a rebranded version of the Fallout 3 Collector’s Edition (which was awesome by the way) but a series of new merchandise (that is casino themed of course) that you can add to your Fallout collection.

Included in the pack is:

  • 8 Gaming Casino Chips.
One from each of the 7 casinos found in Fallout New Vegas as well as a special Platinum Chip recreation.
  • Deck of Cards.
Use these Fallout New Vegas themed cards to challange your friends to game of Caravan which is a brand new game created for Fallout New Vegas.
  • Hard Cover Novel.
This book, called ‘All Roads’ contains some of the back stories of characters that you will meet during your trip.
  • ‘Making of’ DVD.
Looks like an interesting documentary(/marketing piece) with a look behind the scenes on the creation and development of this latest Fallout game.
  • DVD copy of the game.

This looks like one of the more awesome Collector’s Edtions that I’ve seen. You can always use an extra deck of cards and I think the DVD would be really interesting to watch. I always enjoy finding out why they make certain decisions about characters, plots and objects in games.

With the release date still being listed as some time in Fall of this year, it’s time to put down that $10 to pre-order Fallout New Vegas at your favourite store.

Alpha Protocol Release Date Announced

Posted on 19 March 2010 by Tile

Ever wanted to be James Bond… for real?

…and get this, it’s not a linear FPS either, but a full blown RPG. Can you say awesome much? While initial screenshots so that graphics not looking quite as glamorous as games like Call of Duty or the new Battlefield, the gameplay looks like it more than makes up for it. The ultra realistic hand to hand and ranged combat will definitely be leaving the FPS genre developers shaking in their boots.

Your choices throughout the game consist of (but are not limited to):

  • Good spy or bad spy?
  • How would you like to defeat your enemies?
    • Get up close and personal
    • Take them out from a distance
    • Use tech gadgets to sneak your way around them all together
  • Slow down time and take careful aim at your enemies before taking them out in a blaze
  • Fully customize your character through a brand new character creation
  • Make spur of the moment decisions in the heat of the situation that could seriously effect later gameplay. Do it now!

Fallout New Vegas Official Trailer Released

Posted on 19 March 2010 by Tile

Without further ado…
Here is the video:

War… War never changes.

And so apparently do Fallout videos. Yes this video is definitely designed to get you excited about the new Fallout game, rather than tell you much about it. Like all other Fallout teaser videos we get the classic blues song playing over the top of a rather desolate wasteland.

What is the robot doing?

Fallout 2

Posted on 21 December 2009 by Tile

Take a trip into the future, a future in which everything has changed.

After the nuclear wars that nearly destroyed the planet, mankind is left barely alive. The planet is a barren wasteland in which barely anything survives anymore.

Fallout 2 is set about 80 years after the conclusion of Fallout 1. Your character is an ancestor of the Chosen One who saved Vault 13 in the first story. This time the world is a lot bigger with about 30 times more side quests.

Fallout 3

Posted on 21 December 2009 by Tile

Fallout 3 was the super successful sequel to the 1990′s insanely popular RPG PC games Fallout and Fallout 2.

The background on the Fallout games is that you are set in a post-nuclear apocalypse world. The world is covered in dirt and grime (think Terminator 3). Those few who have survived the nuclear war have built small towns or taken refuge in existing buildings. In a time like this there are hero’s of the people and villains who use the unfortunate times for personal gain.

During Fallout 3 you are an inhabitant of Vault 101. The Vault’s are large underground ‘worlds’ in which some of the population sheltered during the nuclear war. Once the war was over the Vault’s were to stay closed until the fallout had settled and the air was safe to breathe. Some opened early and were overrun by bandits and mutant ani

mals, others stayed closed and were ruled by dictator like overseers. After you leave the Vault you go off on your quest, along the way picking up many side quests, meeting colourful NPCs and shooting the crap out of bad dudes.
